Askew view

This lakeside residence in Kingsland, Texas, adorned with delicate steel terraces located in front of glass filled walls, offers expansive view and ample lakeside living on multiple levels. Views of the lake are important for a lakeside residence.  We decided to slide the building masses apart shifting the primary views, which are often perpendicular to the shore line, from the west toward the north, up the Colorado River, just clear of a gigantic one hundred-year-old oak tree that would otherwise totally obscure the river front. The simple, intersecting shed roof forms that generated the buildings shape were also expressed in the interior spaces in dramatic fashion.
